Tiny Dinosaur Picture

Mark and Gary,
My friends and I searched for tiny dinosaurs at a creek outside New Rochelle, NY. We actually discovered a new dinosaur and a cast of its footprint. Dr. Bonnie Keache actually made the discovery and decided to name the "tiny dinosaur" Marc ericksonasuarus. Sorry Gary. Anyway see the attached pictures. Once we piece together the dinosaur, we'll send some more pictures. Happy Excavating!

Cell Phone Wi-Fi Signal Boost using USB

Hi Mark,

My name is Tom M(*****), and I wanted to thank you for the wi-fi signal boost tutorial. My roommate and I use the free connection from the Starbucks across the street from our apartment, but sometimes the signal strength or link quality is too low for a good connection. I found your tutorial and wanted to try it but codldn't find an ethernet cable, so I asked Ray, my roommate, if he had one and explained what it was for. Ray only had a USB cord (for his camera), though, so we tried it in place of the CAT5. Great news! It worked!

The best signal we've had before is about 85% signal strength but only about 50% signal quality (because there is a lot of radio wave noise with all the secure wi-fi connections in our building), and that's on a good day. When we hooked up the cell-phone-USB antenna, we got 100% strength and an astonishing 100% quality!

Ray said the cell phone radio waves help focus the wi-fi signal in one direction, which cuts down on the noise and increases the link quality. While it might not be as effective as the CAT5 (the USB is farther from the wi-fi antenna), it works well enough for us--we don't even have to use the salad bowl trick. Only my cell phone worked, however, because it has an internal antenna, according to Ray, so you might want to let people know that if they're having trouble getting it to work, they might need to buy a new phone.

Luckily for us, we can just use my phone; it kinda sucks not being able to use the phone and internet at the same time, but it's worth the sacrifice. Ray also says the SRS TruSurround on my phone will help my laptop's wimpy speakers. It's win-win! I attached pictures of the setup with the cable disconnected and connected showing the link status of each. Awesome! Thanks again for your astonishing innovation!

expediting snail mail

Hi

I just watched your tutorial on expediting snail mail. It sounds great to me, but I can't seem to find the three digit number for my regional distribution center. I searched all over the usps website with no luck. Also tried google search and wikipedia. Then I called 800-ask-usps. They told me to contact my local post office. I called my post office, and the guy I talked to didn't know anything about the Regional Distribution Center. Can you help me? Thanks,

I watched your videos on YouTube and found them quite usefdl but spent quite a while trying to get Google TV but to no avail. I then wondered was it possible for someone to invite you to Google TV and the only person I know to have it is you. So if it is possible could you please invite me to it.

wrapping the cell phone does it really work?

Dear Mark

I have tried the 'wrapping a cord around the cell phone' trick and it didn't work. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong or need to do.

I have a dell laptop inspiron 8100 with a wireless-G notebook Adapter 2.4 GHz 802.11g. I run windows XP pro.

My cell phone is samsung a950.y103 (what ever that means) my service is via verizon. Don't know if this is a G3 phone but not sure.
I have wraped an ethernet cabel around my cell phone (many times) and plugged the other end into the laptop ethernet plug. I got nothing. I can see 1 wireless signal with 1-2 bars before doing this and no more after.
I am doing this right, or what else can I do to make this work? - Can you help?
Thanks for you time and keep up the cool ideas.

I just watched your update on googleTV and I must say that I can't believe some people still believe it's a hoax. I can tell by watching the video that you were probably deeply affected by this (and I know my one email out of thousands you receieve probably doesn't mean much to you) but I hope you keep making infinite solutions. Your tutorials are obviously legit, this one is just hard to pull off. I think your a brilliant person with a great charisma. Keep it up man. Truly,

LPC Code / BRL #

Mark,

I watched your clip on expediting mail with an LPC code on YouTube. I talked with my postal carrier as well as the local Post Office here in Lubbock and they had no clue as to what I was talking about. Where can I find the Lubbock, Texas LPC code? We're only about a 100 miles from Amarillo (the letters that you talked about were from there). Also what are LPC and BRL acronyms for?
I'll look forward to your reply.

Thank you,

Everything was ok until when i drag the Itunes music Library icon into the FE convert drop, it said "This movie or sound file cannot be opened. It may be corrupt, un recognizable or unsupported type". If you have a little bit of time, please explain it to me. By the way i like all of your tutorials, they are very helpful! Electric conducting tape Q

Hey, i need some questions answered about that video you made on recharging batteries with another set of batteries.
Could you tell me where the 'Electric conducting tape' can be found or bought from, or is there another name for it?
I did some research on the material and i could only find Insulating tape materials, used for mainly protection from electricity.
Here's what i found from wiki, which is the exact opposite of what i need.

How to increase Wi-Fi signal

Hello Mark,

I really like your videos and hope you come out with some more. I have a question regarding the video on the Wi-Fi signal.

I have a 3G cellphone. What do i exactly have to do? You said, "If you have a 3G phone, you may be already done". Can this work on laptops too? Near my house, there is no Wi-Fi signal. Can i use this method to get a signal? If i do get a signal, do i just double click that signal?

Thanks!!!!

I saw your video on Youtube on speeding up the mail system. In it, you mentioned to ask your mail carrier what your BRL number or LPC code is. Not only did my mail carrier not know what a BRL number or LPC code is, but when I called the supervisor at the post office, they didn't know either.

What does LPC or BRL stand for?

Is there a list of them on the net somewhere?
